Unnao rape case: Expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar gets life term

A Delhi court on Friday sentenced life imprisonment to expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in minor rape case. Delhi's Tis Hazari Court has also ordered Sengar to pay a compensation of Rs. 25 lakhs to the victim. On December 16, the court had convicted him and adjourned the case till December 20 for hearing on order for quantum of sentence to Sengar. He was convicted under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 5 (c) and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
