Vijayawada: Man kills wife with Cricket bat

Hayatunnisa was a government teacher in an upper primary school at Burnpet in Narasaraopet town.

Vijayawada: In a fit of rage, a man killed his wife with a cricket bat at Narasaraopet on Saturday night. Narasaraopet rural police inspector Y. Achaiah said a major altercation took place between husband Sk Mustafa and his wife Hayatunnisa on Saturday night at their house in Sai Nagar area of Narasaraopet. Hayatunnisa was a government teacher in an upper primary school at Burnpet in Narasaraopet town.

Mustafa was unemployed. She extended finance of Rs 2 lakh for an Innova vehicle, so that her husband could enter travel business and start earning. But he suffered losses. She again financed Rs 2 lakh for him to start a cloth store. Due to his negligence, the store too closed.

This led to differences between the two and they quarrelled frequently, On Saturday night also, the duo entered into heated arguments. Mustafa flew into a rage, picked up the cricket bat and started beating Hayatunnisa, killing her on the spot. Mustafa surrendered to the police on Sunday morning and informed them about the incident.

Police have shifted the body to Narasaraopet Government Area Hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered against Mustafa.
