Civil society members hold rally to support CAA in Muz, Bhagalpur
BHAGALPUR/MUZAFFARPUR: Amid nationwide protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), a large number of residents of Amarpur block in Banka district and different civil society organizations in Muzaffarpur took out rallies in support of the Act and proposed National Register of Citizen (NRC) here on Sunday.
In Banka, street corner meetings were organised to explain the provisions of CAA and how it is not against anyone but to provide citizenship to migrant minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afganistan who are being prosecuted there.

Organizer of the civil society march,Mrinal Shekhar, said that vested interests and opposition parties are creating confusion among the minorities who are ignorant about the provisions of CAA. The civil society members are here to dispel the doubts and create awareness about it.
“The violent protests are only for vote bank politics and nothing else,” added Mrinal saying, “The separatist forces, terrorists, Maosists and others, who are opposed to social harmony, peace and progress of India, may take advantage of such protests. Hence we have decided to create awareness about CAA among the common people, especially minorities, that CAA is not against taking away anyone’s citizenship but to provide citizenship to minorities of neighbouring countries.”
