FIR against BJP MP KP Yadav for false claims

According to the FIR, there were discrepancies in two income certificates submitted by him.

Bhopal: In a significant development, police filed an FIR against BJP MP from Guna in Madhya Pradesh K. P. Yadav for submitting false income certificate to claim other Backward Class (OBC) certificate for his son.

Police booked Yadav and his son Sarthak under sections 420 (cheating), 120 B (criminal conspiracy), 181 (false affirmation to public servant authorized to administer an oath), and 182 (false information with intent to cause public servant to use unlawful power) of Indian Penal Code for providing wrong statement on his income to claim OBC certificate, in-charge of Kotwali police station under district headquarters of Ashok Nagar said on Monday.

According to the FIR, there were discrepancies in two income certificates submitted by him. The income shown during filing of nomination for Guna LS seat in the last parliamentary elections did not match with the one he filed for claiming OBC certificate.

An FIR was filed following a probe into the complaint in this regard, the police said. BJP decried police action against Yadav, calling it “arbitrary and discriminatory”.
