A 26-year-old differently abled man poured petrol and set himself ablaze peeved by brutal police thrashing after he was called at Nichlaul police station in Maharajganj district.

LUCKNOW/GORAKHPUR: A 26-year-old differently abled man poured petrol and set himself ablaze peeved by brutal police thrashing after he was called at Nichlaul police station in Maharajganj district.
He was allegedly thrashed by cops on Monday evening.
The victim, Jagarnath Upadhayay sustained 90 per cent burns and succumbed to the injuries at BRD Medical College on Tuesday morning, said the police.

SP Maharajganj, Rohit Sajwan contradicted claims that so far it has come to the fore that a woman Asha Yadav and victim's brother Amarnath were in a relationship and they had beaten the victim.
"An FIR under charges of attempt to murder has been lodged against Asha Yadav and she has also been detained," he added.
