NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Saturday demanded to see the CCTV footage of the protests at Daryaganj before it took a final call on the bail plea of 15 accused allegedly involved in the clash.
The court asked Delhi Police to examine the CCTV footage to verify the alleged involvement of the 15 people who were arrested following the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

The court said there was a probability of ascertaining the exact roles of the accused by examining the footage and posted the matter for January 7.
“The investigating officer should examine the aspect of CCTV footage and produce grabs, if any, of the alleged incident in order to ascertain the actual involvement of the applicants,” said Manish Yaduvanshi, additional district judge. He also directed the police to verify the address of the accused by the next date of hearing.
Opposing the plea, Delhi Police told the court that 17 policemen sustained injuries in the protests in which public property was also destroyed.
During the hearing, additional public prosecutor told the court that the accused had hatched a “criminal conspiracy” and set a car on fire, pelted stones and broken barricades.
The defence, however, claimed that no case was made out under IPC Section 436 invoked by police relating to “mischief done with intent to destroy.” All the accused are currently in judicial custody. One of them has a filed a separate petition claiming to be a juvenile.
