WARANGAL: Police commissioner V Ravinder on Monday said that 110 teams comprising mobile police, traffic wing, law and order cops have been formed to keep an eye on drunken driving during New Year’s-eve.
Speaking to reporters here, Ravinder said no motorist or driver will be spared if caught driving under the influence of alcohol on Tuesday night.
He said that no permission was given to hotels and restaurants to organise DJ music shows and in open areas.
He said intense checking will be done to curb road accidents during and after the New Year-eve celebrations. “Barricades will be set up on arterial roads and state highways passing through Warangal city. This is being done to ensure safety of motorists and other vehicle drivers,” he said. He also urged parents to keep an eye on their children and stop them from driving under the influence of liquor. He said liquor shops would not be allowed to operate after the stipulated closing hours on Tuesday.
