All of this weekend's FA Cup games have been delayed by 60 seconds as part of a campaign to encourage supporters to 'Take A Minute' to think about looking after their mental health.

Cardiff City welcomed Carlisle for a 3.01pm kick-off on Saturday, while Swansea City have travelled to QPR for a 2.01pm start today.

They are two 32 ties kicking off one minute later than their traditionally scheduled time-slots as part of the Heads Up campaign, which saw Heads Together and the FA join together to run a season-long campaign to change the conversation around mental health.

Spearheaded by the Duke of Cambridge, the campaign aims to use the popularity of football to encourage more people, particularly men, to feel comfortable talking about - and taking action to improve - their mental health.

The FA says fans will be encouraged to think about the positive effects 60 seconds could have on their own wellbeing or in supporting a friend or family member.

In a 60-second clip which the Duke narrates for the campaign, he says: "In life, as in football, we all go through highs and lows.

"We can all sometimes feel anxious and stressed. At moments, even the little things can seem a struggle. But we can all start to change things."

He has previously said: "Heads Up will use one of the most powerful, unifying forces in our society - football - to spread the message that we all have mental health, just as we all have physical health.

"Our ambition is to start the largest ever conversation on mental health and to ensure there is a lasting mental health legacy for the game in this country.

"I hope Heads Up can help us all take another big step forward in shattering the stigma that surrounds mental health."

The move to delay kick-off times this weekend is also in partnership with Public Health England’s ‘Every Mind Matters’ campaign.

Fans can search ‘Every Mind Matters’ to create their own personal mental health action plan.

Those in need of immediate support can text ‘HeadsUp’ to 85258 to be connected to a trained crisis counsellor. This service is available 24/7, and free to text from most mobile networks.
