Andhra Pradesh: Five killed as vehicle plunges into canal in Srikakulam

Five persons, including two women and two children, were killed in a road accident on Kottapalli bridge in Mandasa Mandal in Srikakulam district in the early hours of Saturday when the vehicle they were travelling in skidded off and plunged into a canal.

SRIKAKULAM: Five persons, including two women and two children, were killed in a road accident on Kottapalli bridge in Mandasa Mandal in Srikakulam district in the early hours of Saturday when the vehicle they were travelling in skidded off and plunged into a canal.
One person Trilochan Jenna survived the accident and his present condition is said to be out of danger. Cops have identified the deceased persons as Vanita Jenna, Adarsh Kumar Jenna, Pratap and Reetu.
As per the preliminary information, all the six people from Bhuvaneswar in Odisha had visited Simhachalam temple in Vizag on Friday.
They were returning to Berhampur on Friday night. When the vehicle reached the Kottapalli bridge in the early hours of Saturday, the driver lost control over the vehicle.
The car fell from the bridge and plunged into a small canal. Since the vehicle turned turtle in the water, no one got a chance to come out of the vehicle, resulting in the deaths of five persons, cops said.
