GHAZIABAD: The Dwarka-Vaishali Blue Line is on its way to becoming the Dwarka-Mohan Nagar Blue Line, adding 5km and four new stations to Delhi Metro’s second-longest corridor.

DMRC on Saturday submitted the detailed project report for the long-awaited extension of the Ghaziabad section of the Blue Line, which will see it converge with the Red Line at Mohan Nagar. The report pegs the construction cost of the project at Rs 1,808 crore, of which 74% will be borne by the UP government and 18% by the central government. Unlike in the Dilshad Garden-New Bus Adda metro project, DMRC will not contribute anything in the form of rolling stock in this project.

The land requirement for the three new stations on the route — Prahlad Garhi, Vasundhara Sector 14 and Sahibabad — and for the elevated alignment will be 86,857 sq m.
