Mumbai: Fire breaks out in upscale Vile Parle building, 10 fire engines rush to spot

The fire broke out at around 7 pm on Sunday and is confined to the 7th and 8th floor of the building. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet.

Mumbai: Fire breaks out in upscale Vile Parle building, 10 fire engines rush to spot

A fire has broken out at Labh Shrivalli building in Vile Parle, West Mumbai. The blaze erupted at around 7 pm on Sunday and is confined to two to three offices on the 7th, 8th and the 13th floor of the building.

The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet. Three to four people have been rescued from the 7th floor and the search for others is still underway, Mumbai Chief Fire Officer told ANI.

Eight to 10 fire tenders have reached the spot and the efforts to douse the fire at the Labh Shrivalli building on Bajaj Road in Vile Parle are underway. Search operations are underway.




It is not yet known if anyone is stuck inside the Vile Parle building. The fire fighting operations are on. Since it was a Sunday, most of the offices in the building were said to be closed.

The incident has come nearly a week after 20 residents including 15 women were rescued from a 12-storey building in suburban Ghatkopar (East) in Mumbai

No casualties were reported in the incident, a fire brigade official said.

The fire broke out on the fifth floor and spread to the sixth floor of Shriji Tower on Rajawadi Road around 5.42 pm, the official said. The flames were mostly confined to electrical wirings, installations, fridge, TV and furniture, he said.
