HC: No poll in some wards in Karimnagar
Hyderabad: Stating that when glaring irregularities pertaining to pre-election process surface, courts can hold a judicial review of the things under Article 226 of the Constitution, Justice P Naveen Rao of the high court restrained the authorities from going ahead with the election process in certain wards of Karimnagar municipal corporation and also in Nirmal, Mahabubnagar and Vanaparthi municipal bodies.

“You cannot move forward without rectifying the glaring irregularities pointed out by several petitioners from these municipal bodies,” the judge said. Counsel Mayur Reddy, who argued the case of petitioners from Karimnagar, told TOI that the judge has made it clear that the authorities cannot go forward regardless of the election schedule.
