UP: Noida SSP Vaibhav Krishna suspended; 14 other IPS officers reshuffled

LUCKNOW: Almost eight days after explicit chat and videos of Noida senior superintendent of police (SSP) Vaibhav Krishna and a woman went viral, the IPS officer was suspended by the Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday.
The state government has also constituted a three-member committee headed by DG (Vigilance) HC Awasthi to probe 'money for transfer/posting' in important districts, an allegation levelled by Vaibhav Krishna against five serving IPS officers in the state.
Apart from SSP Noida, 14 other district police chiefs, including that of Lucknow have been transferred. The government is yet to announce names of the officers posted as SSP Noida and Lucknow.
Whereas, Kalanidhi Naithani, who was posted as SSP Lucknow, has now been shifted in the same capacity to Ghaziabad. On the other hand, Ghaziabad SSP Sudhir Singh was made the new commandant of the 15th battalion of PAC, Agra Unit.
Other transfers included that of SSP STF Rajeev Mishra, who has been shifted to PAC Moradabad in the same capacity.
Rampur SP Ajay Pal Sharma, who got over 50 cases lodged against Rampur MP Azam Khan, was shifted to Police Training Center in Unnao in the same capacity while, Santosh Mishra, who was serving as SSP Etawah, was made the new SP of Rampur. SP Barabanki, Akash Tomar, was made the new SP Etawah, while, Arvind Chaturvedi was made the new SP of Barabanki. Chaturvedi was serving as SP Ghazipur and replaced by OP Singh. Singh was serving as SP of Jhansi district. G. Muniraj has been made the new SP of Jhansi.
SP Sultanpur Himanshu Kumar has been shifted to PAC Etawah while other transfers included that of Hathras and Banda.
