Since she was a child Traci has had to cope with abuse and bullying because of the fleshy lumps that cover her face.

The 32-year-old has been battling the skin condition for more than 20 years and admits it has had a devastating impact on her confidence.

Heartbreakingly, Traci reveals she has "never felt beautiful" and that she hates having to go out and face the world every day.

The bullying she endured at school has left devastaing emotional scars.

Traci said: "In about the eighth grade I got dubbed ‘crater face’ by the school bully, that’s when everything took a toll.

"Words are really deep-seeded, you sit and dwell on them and they take hold of your life. I don’t feel beautiful in any way shape or form."

Admitting she "constantly feels like I'm being judged", Traci doesn't even believe her husband when he gives her compliments.

She said: "He tells me all the time how beautiful I am, and I just think he’s crazy."

Desperate Traci has already sought medical help for her condition but it has left her with scars across her face and still suffers from the fleshy lumps.

But now she is turning to Dr Sandra Lee, AKA Dr Pimple Popper, for help.

Traci travels from Idaho in the US to California for a special consultation but confesses she is extremely nervous about what will happen.

Dr Lee is not phased by Traci's skin and explains: "I see all these flesh colour bumps on her face, but I really pay attention to the distribution of the bumps."

She reveals the 32-year-old is suffering from trichoepitheliomas, which causes firm and rubbery bumps on the skin.

Tragically, there's no quick fix for the condition but with multiple sessions she should see a difference.

Dr Lee gets to work straight away, helping to remove the bigger lumps and flatten down the skin on Traci’s face.

Traci is then given a local anaesthetic to numb her face.

Dr Lee methodically slices, cuts and snips away at the lumps, carefully removing them in the messy procedure.

With the bulk of the big bumps removed, Dr Lee starts smoothing out the affected area by using a CO2 laser, which finely burns away at the raised patches of Traci’s skin.

But, as Dr Lee admits: “It is painful. The laser is like a beam of heat that is boring a hole into you. It’s not comfortable."

And Traci can't believe the difference.

She said: "That is already a night and day difference.

"I can’t even express how grateful I am for what she was willing to do to help me.

"I think finally I’m at a point where I can let the past be in the past and start fresh and new."

A few months, and several treatments later, Traci looks and feels like a new person.

She said: "Holy moly, I almost don’t have the words to articulate right now just how incredible I feel and how much better I look.

"I’ve never felt beautiful until now."
