MUMBAI/PATNA: In a major breakthrough, Mumbai crime branch arrested fugitive gangster Ejaz Yusuf Lakdawala from near Patna railway station on Wednesday.
Lakdawala (50), who is wanted in around 25 cases, including two murders, was on the run after jumping bail in 1999. He was close to Chhota Rajan and started off independently in 2008. Builders, hoteliers and film industry members were his key extortion targets, police said.
Sources in Bihar police said the operation lasted about 15 minutes. A four-member Mumbai police team nabbed him at 10.30 am while he was on his way to Patna airport.
