Nuneaton is a town the overwhelming majority of big chain restaurants sadly steer clear of.

But from our recent poll, there's definitely an appetite for more!

While there's no shortage of Subways and McDonalds, the variety of the eating-out venues from fast food to fine dining isn't the best.

It is getting better though. We've seen in recent times Piero Lounge open in the town centre in the old Maplins shop site in Market Place. But what other eateries do you crave?

We asked you, the people of Nuneaton, to make suggestions on a Nuneaton News Facebook post - and you responded in your droves.

Here's the top three outlets/types of eatery you would like to see open in the city...

1. Nando's

It would probably good news for the future of our planet if Nuneaton got its own Nando's, given the amount of miles people put into their cars to drive to Coventry or Tamworth to get their chicken fill.

A petition was even created persuading Nando's to open in the town.

Unfortunately, they haven't obliged.

2. Wagamama

Wagamama's Chicken Katsu Curry

The Asian and Japanese inspired restaurant serving up katsu curries and bowls of ramen are common place in the United Kingdom.

But Nuneaton residents have to head over to Coventry or Solihull to get their Wagas fix.

3. Five Guys

Five Guys

There's seven Five Guys in the West Midlands - with four being located in Birmingham alone and another in Solihull.

Five Guys boast 250,000 ways to order a burger, offering toppings such as grilled mushrooms, pickles and jalapeno peppers.

Their own website menu carries complimentary comments from celebrity chefs Heston Blumenthal and Marcus Wearing.

They're clearly doing something right.

Honourable mentions...
