Taking a dig at the education model being operated in the National Capital by the Aam Aadmi Party, Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday, January 10, alleged the Delhi government of dealing a “crushing blow to the education system”.
The Union Minister further accused Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal dispensation of failing to reimburse 70 per cent of the education expense taken care of by the municipal corporations in the National Capital.
“It (AAP government) has failed to reimburse Rs. 3,941 cr to North MCD, Rs. 569 cr to East MCD & Rs. 223 cr to South MCD. As a result, the MCDs have been unable to pay salaries, seventh central pay commission arrears and other benefits to the teachers,” said Mr. Puri in a tweet.
Adding further, the Union Minister said that the civic body-run schools in the capital city are operating with only 57 per cent of the sanctioned teachers strength and “They call this a success”.
