AHMEDABAD: A CG Road-based tour operator on Thursday filed a complaint of cheating against a Mumbai-based doctor, for cheating him of Rs 1.89 lakh by availing of six domestic and four international air tickets in December 2017, for which he never paid.
In his FIR with Satellite police, Atish Nikumbh, 40, a resident of Satellite, said he runs a ticket booking business and most of his bookings happen over the phone.
On December 24, 2017, Nikumbh got a call from the accused, who identified himself as Dr Ashish Sharma and said that he lives at Ballard (east) in Mumbai. “He told me that he needs six tickets from Goa to Mumbai, one ticket from Mumbai to New Zealand, two tickets from Mumbai to Oakland and one ticket from Delhi to China for his friends,” said Nikumbh in his FIR. The fare for these tickets was a total of Rs 1.89 lakh. Sharma told Nikumbh that he would pay for the tickets before December 25, 2017, but did not do so. Whenever Nikumbh asked him for the money, Sharma made some excuse or the other and did not pay any money. Nikumbh later learned that Sharma had cheated other tour operators as well. He then approached Satellite police and filed a complaint of breach of trust, cheating and criminal conspiracy. tnn
