Eminent historian Irfan Habib takes a jibe at PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah

Eminent historian Irfan Habib stoked a controversy at an event organised at Aligarh Muslim University’s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital. Habib criticized Prime minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah said that the later should change his last name, as Shah is a Persian name. He said that two-nation theory was brought in Savarkar and he was a close to Nathuram Godse. Savarkar was released by the court due to lack of circumstantial evidence, otherwise he too would have been convicted.
