Patna: PPU teachers, staff peeved at non-payment of salaries

Peeved at the non-payment of salaries to both the teaching and non-teaching staff of different constituent colleges of Patliputra University (PPU) for three months, a delegation of the Patliputra University Teachers’ Association (PPUTA) met vice-chancellor (VC) Gulab Chand Ram Jaiswal at the university headquarters on Tuesday. They also submitted a memorandum to him in this connection.

PATNA: Peeved at the non-payment of salaries to both the teaching and non-teaching staff of different constituent colleges of Patliputra University (PPU) for three months, a delegation of the Patliputra University Teachers’ Association (PPUTA) met vice-chancellor (VC) Gulab Chand Ram Jaiswal at the university headquarters on Tuesday. They also submitted a memorandum to him in this connection.
According to PPUTA president A K Singh Thakur, the association urged the VC to ensure payment of salaries as per the revised pay scale recommended by the University Grants Commission (UGC) by January 31.
“We also requested him to look into all pending cases of appointment and promotion,” he told this newspaper.
The memorandum submitted to the VC highlighted the need for payment of all retiral benefits to the teachers so that they do have to run from pillar to post.
Others, who were part of the delegation, included PPUTA general secretary Hridya Narain Singh and executive members Yogendra Sinha, Birendra Prasad Singh, Awadesh Rai, Rajeshwar Singh, Subodh Kumar as well as Alakhdeo Prasad.
