Mid-day games Wednesday, Friday for local school systems

The crowds keep getting bigger and bigger for Colgate Kids Days games, and this year’s combination is the best yet.

There will be a sold-out Cotterell Court and a packed Class of 1965 Arena when the Raiders welcome school kids from throughout the area to this week’s two Kids Day games. Women’s Basketball is hosting Lafayette Wednesday at 11 a.m., and Women’s Hockey is welcoming Harvard Friday at noon.

“The response has gotten better and better over the seasons, and this year we maxed it out,” said Brigid St. Leger, Colgate interim Associate AD for Marketing and Fan Engagement. “Ashley Capone [marketing and events fellow] did a great job organizing, and we have an outstanding relationship with these schools. Plus, word of mouth continues to be our best selling point.

“We are just so happy that we can offer both a basketball game and a hockey game for our youngest fans. It should be a fun time.”
