For the last 40 years Tim has worked tirelessly as a farmer.
But for the last decade his job has become increasingly difficult and his dating life impossible because of a huge growth on his back.
Desperate, he turns to Dr Sandra Lee, AKA Dr Pimple Popper, for help and she admits it's the "biggest I've ever seen".
The lump started out small but has exploded in size over the last 10 years.
Devastated Tim, from North Carolina in the US, said: "Now, it’s probably as big as a cantaloupe and I’m just thinking, how big will it get?
"I grew up on a farm and you have to do a lot of hard work.
"Now, the lump is in the way. Driving a tractor, it hurts. I can’t put a whole lot of pressure on it. It gets uncomfortable real quick before you know it."
A bachelor with no wife or kids, Tim also feels like the lump has put his love life on hold.
He said: "I don’t go out to town, or a bar or meet people because of the lump."
He admits he doesn't even like to go to social events because he's so embarrassed.
Tim added: "If I can get this removed, I could go out more socially, date more and working would be a lot easier on me."
The 59-year-old has tried to tackle the problem on his own and has visited the doctor several times.
He has been told it's a lipoma but has been reluctant to have it removed.
Tim explained: "I kept on putting it off, just thinking it doesn’t bother me that much."
But he's finally had enough and wants the growth gone for good.
Tim said: "You think you’ve got plenty of time in your life, but then you realise you don’t."
He has decided to make the trip to Dr Lee in California and as soon as she sees Tim’s lump,she's lost for words.
Dr Lee said: "He’s got this big ball under his skin, this is the biggest thing that I’ve ever seen.
"I don’t know if you have the world record but I think you could be in the running."
But she's certain she can help and opts for surgery.
Cutting into the lump, Dr Lee begins by sticking her fingers into the incision and wiggling them around in an attempt to coax the lipoma out.
She said: "Tim does have a lipoma that is pseudo-incapsulated but the problem is that it’s stuck and tethered down at the bottom and it’s very hard to get to it."
After wrestling with the lipoma Dr Lee eventually manages to wiggle and snip it free from Tim’s body.
Popping the enormous mass of fat onto the scales, Dr Lee is astonished at how much Tim’s lipoma weighs.
She said: "I’ve given birth to two baby boys myself and neither of them were the size or the weight of this."
The lump weighs a massive 12lb 9oz and is a record.
Dr Lee said: "This is the heaviest mass that I’ve ever removed on somebody’s body – that was like a big baby."
