A truck carrying onions and its driver was looted by eight persons on the Kanpur highway in Jalaun district on Tuesday morning.

JHANSI: A truck carrying onions and its driver was looted by eight persons on the Kanpur highway in Jalaun district on Tuesday morning.
The robbers dumped the truck, along with the driver, in Mauranipur area of Jhansi.
The truck driver, identified as Surendra Singh, who owns the truck as well, narrated the incident to the olice. An FIR was lodged against unknown persons under Section 392 of IPC, late on Tuesday night.
As per the details revealed by Surendra, he along with his helper, was ferrying onions from Maharashtra to Kanpur.
On Tuesday morning, an SUV intercented his truck on Jhansi- Kanpur highway. Eight men came out of the SUV and looted cash worth Rs 56,000 and his mobile phone. After blinfolding Surendra and his helper, the robbers dumped them into their SUV. After a couple of hours, they were thrown out at an isolated place.
Later, the victims approached Mauranipur police station and an FIR was lodged.
SP (rural) Rahul Mithas said, “The robbers are still untraced. We are investigating the matter.”
