Patna: 12 booked in milk trader murder case

Police have launched a manhunt to arrest 12 people who were named in an FIR in connection with the murder of a milk trader, Manish Kumar (20), who was beaten to death at Gosaipur diara village under the Akilpur police station area in western Patna on Wednesday night.

PATNA: Police have launched a manhunt to arrest 12 people who were named in an FIR in connection with the murder of a milk trader, Manish Kumar (20), who was beaten to death at Gosaipur diara village under the Akilpur police station area in western Patna on Wednesday night. The victim was a resident of Kasimchak village under the same police station area.
Police said one Chunnu Kumar of Sultanpur village under the Danapur police station area was named as the main accused in the FIR lodged by victim’s father Vishwanath Rai with Akilpur police station on Thursday.

SHO (incharge) of Akilpur police station Deo Kumar Prasad said multiple injury marks were found on the head and the body of Manish. “Manish and Chunnu had a fight at least two months back over a monetary dispute,” he said, adding Manish had lent money to Chunnu which the latter failed to pay back.
Prasad said Manish was on way to riverine belt from Akilpur to collect milk when he was intercepted by more than six people. “He was riding a bike when several people armed with rods and sticks attacked him. They fled the spot after committing the crime. Manish was taken to a hospital where the doctors declared him brought arrival,” the SHO said, adding raids were on to arrest the accused.
