    SAIC-owned MG Motor India will showcase the future of mobility by demonstrating latest technologies and advancements in internet, electric and autonomous cars at the expo in Greater Noida next month with 14 vehicles across market segments from its current global portfolio as well as future platforms.

    “MG Motor India is committed to accelerating the adoption of eco-friendly, next generation mobility solutions over the long term in India. To achieve this goal, we aim to establish our technology leadership and further consolidate our position in the Indian automotive space,” said Rajeev Chaba, president & managing director, MG Motor India.

    The company – which is among several Chinese automakers to have expressed interest in the India Motor Show – will be participating for the first time this year. Overall, 90 exhibitors are set to display their products at the Auto Expo starting Feb 6, 2020. As many as 60 products are scheduled to launched and unveiled at the country’s biennial motor show in its 15th edition.

    Tata Motors, India’s largest automobile manufacturer by revenue, announced plans to display 26 vehicles at the show earlier this month. This would include four global unveils, 14 commercial vehicles and 12 passenger vehicles.

    On an average around 100,000 people visit the India Motor Show every day, held once every two years in the National Capital Region (NCR). The last edition of the week-long event recorded a marginal rise in footfalls to 605,000. Over 500 products were showcased by 119 exhibitors, with 22 product launches, 81 product unveilings and 18 concepts. As many as 11 startups had showed up. Audi, Ford, FCA, JLR, Nissan, Volkswagen, Bajaj Auto, Royal Enfield and Harley-Davidson missed Auto Expo 2018. Green machines ruled the show in the previous edition, with 25 electric vehicles displayed.
