The nullah was filled with dirty water and the man could have drowned. One of the onlookers rushed to the Chembur traffic chowky nearby and alerted the cops.
A group of personnel rushed to the spot and one of them - constable Gehla - gingerly stepped onto the edge of the nullah.
He then bent down to extend his hand to the man who had fallen inside. But Gehla couldn't reach the man. His colleagues rushed back to the chowky and got some blankets.
They tied them together and Gehla extended one end of the blankets to the man inside the nullah. He was safely brought out.
