Mumbai: Convict who jumped parole in 2007 caught

A murder convict who jumped parole in 2007 was arrested from a village in Uttar Pradesh. Rajeshkumar Diwedi (37) was arrested in 2003 for killing a senior citizen at Bhulabhai Desai Road.

MUMBAI: A murder convict who jumped parole in 2007 was arrested from a village in Uttar Pradesh. Rajeshkumar Diwedi (37) was arrested in 2003 for killing a senior citizen at Bhulabhai Desai Road. He slit the woman's throat in her home and fled with gold ornaments worth Rs 2 lakh. He was given a life sentence in 2007. He was granted a month's parole in the same year, and went absconding.
The city crime branch traced him to UP on Tuesday.
