LUCKNOW: The mutilated body of an 11-year-old missing boy was recovered in Sitapur on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Armaan, a native of Bansura village under Rampur Mathura police station of Sitapur. Though he went missing on January 7, police registered a case only on January 13.
On Wednesday night, some villagers spotted stray dogs ripping a gunny-bag with blood stains near a petrol pump and alerted UP 112.

A police team reached the spot, which is near Armaan's home, and called the forensic experts.
"We found the mutilated body of a boy in a gunny bag who was later identified as Armaan," said SHO Rampur Mathura police station, Kuldeep Tiwari. The body was identified by Armaan's father Tauseef.
"My elder son Armaan had gone out to buy grocery on January 7 but didn't return. I sent my younger son Farhan to find him. Farhan returned after half-an-hour and told me that grocer Bablu had chased him away," Tauseef told TOI over phone.

"Next day I went to lodge a complaint about my missing son and Bablu's misbehaviour but police refused to lodge a case. I also met the SHO but he also sent me away," Tauseef added.
"On January 10, I went to the office of SP Sitapur but my complaint was not lodged. Finally, with the help of a lawyer a case was lodged on January 13," he said. "Had the police registered the case my son could have been saved," he added.
The injury marks on the boy's body indicate he was murdered, said SP Sitapur LR Kumar. Tauseef has accused Salimullah and Bablu of murdering his son, Kumar added.
Asked about the delay in police action, SP Sitapur said he was on leave and joined the office on January 16. Admitting police laxity in registering the case, Kumar has ordered a probe by CO City into the incident. "We are waiting for Armaan's postmortem report," SP said.
