Nagpur: Population census from next month

NAGPUR: The district administration will conduct population census from February. It has already started the economic census. Government staffers will go to every house and collect data for Census 2021.
In the economic census, the name of the head of the family, names of family members, their age, occupation and income will be collected. The number of unemployed persons will also be noted, said a statistical officer.
In the population census this time around, the caste of the person and whether he or she is an OBC will also be noted. Other than this, religion, name and age of the persons will also be asked.
The officer has appealed to citizens to provide information based on facts to government officials. “It will help the government in formulating policies. This information will not be shared with anybody and hence, citizens should rest assured of confidentiality,” he said.
Census is conducted once in 10 years. It was last done in 2010-2011 and the results were made public in 2012.
