Bahraich horror: Woman’s naked body found, burnt with acid

In another horrific case of crimes against women, villagers in Uttar Pradesh’s Naubana in Bahraich district discovered the exposed and burnt body of a girl near the Katarniya Ghat forest. According to initial reports, the burns seem to be from acid, in what could be an attempt to conceal her identity. Bahraich SP Gaurav Grover formed a six-member special investigation team (SIT) to trace the identity of the woman. A DySP, two inspectors, two sub-inspectors and a constable are in the SIT. SP Grover said forensic experts were also informed and did not rule out the possibility of rape or murder but said a postmortem report was awaited.
