KOLKATA: Bengal governor Jagdeep
Dhankhar has reacted strongly to education minister Partha Chatterjee’s jibe at him and his wife over their “PR exercise” in government programmes while targeting the state gover-nment,
particularly the education department.Dhankhar said the minister should “think before he speaks out”.
Chatterjee had said on Wednesday: “The governor and his wife seem to be in a PR exercise.
I have all regard for the governor and his wife. We have never asked why anybody other than the governor should be present at government programmes. I have never seen Gopalkrishna Gandhi doing it. Neither did I see M K Narayanan or Keshari Nath Tripathi doing it.”
“The minister is terribly wrong. That’s a perverted concept. He must learn the sensitive aspect of this. The CM of this state is a lady. He needs to look within. I will appeal to him to please think before he speaks out,” Dhankhar said, clarifying that the “first lady” doesn’t go where she is not invited.
