Roy Krishna was the x-factor for ATK as the side beat Goa FC 2-0 at home to move to the top of Indian Super League standings.

Krishna assisted both goals and was a constant thorn in the Goa defence, with the away side struggling to deal with his darting runs and intricate link-up play.

ATK head coach Antonio Habas was watching from the stands due to a suspension as the Vodafone Fijian national team captain showed the creative side to his game.

That skillset will be crucial during the knockout phase of the competition as ATK chase their first title since 2016.

But Krishna was substituted late in the game with what seemed like an injury.

This was a worring sight for ATK with Australia striker David Williams also missing the match through injury.

ATK assistant coach Manuel Perez said: “It’s too soon to know that. Krishna was tired and we wanted to press high, so we took him off.

“As for Williams, we have 10 days till the next match. We will work on him and try to get him fit for the next match.”

Krishna also won the limitless player of the match and the winning pass of the match following the win.

The win took ATK two points clear of chasers and defending champions Bengaluru FC in second place.

The Kolkata-based side next host North East United on Tuesday (2am Fiji time).

“It’s a very good result for us,” said Perez.

“We are back on top of the table now. FC Goa are our rivals and we have fighting them the whole season for the top spot.”
