Raja Singh aims to rename ‘Nizamabad’

Nizamabad: Raja Singh, BJP MLA representing Goshamahal Assembly Constituency told that if BJP gets a majority in all the local bodies’ elections, the name of Nizamabad District will be renamed as ‘Induru’.

While addressing an election meeting at Nizamabad yesterday, he said that this would be possible if BJP gets Mayor’s seat in Nizamabad.

Induru

He pointed out that earlier the name of this district was ‘Induru’ which was changed during the regime of the Nizam.

He claimed that in Nizam’s regime, atrocities were committed against people of Telangana, Andhra and Karnataka.

During the address, Singh claimed that BJP will win 39 seats in the Nizamabad Municipal Corporation.

It may be mentioned that in the month of August 2019, Nizamabad MP, D. Arvind had also suggested that the district should be renamed.

Bhagyanagar

It may be recalled that during the State Assembly Election in 2018, Singh had said that Hyderabad should be renamed as ‘Bhagyanagar’.

As per the popular belief, Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, a ruler of Hyderabad had fallen in love with a woman, Bhagmati. It is also believed that Hyderabad was named after the woman. However, the city was renamed after Bhagmati converted to Islam and changed her name to ‘Hyder Mahal’.
