Capacity development workshop for women in Nagaland

Dimapur, Jan. 19 (EMN): Nagaland state Chief Secretary Temjen Toy will be inaugurating a capacity development workshop for women, on January 22 in Kohima. The event is an initiative by Startup India, department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). The workshop aims to identify and support aspiring and established female entrepreneurs by providing them with access to incubation, mentors, investors and various business support services.

Updates that were received here stated that the workshop will be inaugurated at 9 am at the Sird hall along the Thizama road, new Secretariat in Kohima. The two-day workshop for women is to be conducted at the same venue on January 22 and the 23rd, from 9 am to 5:30 pm, the updates stated.

SingEx, India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Temasek in Singapore, has been selected by Startup India and the department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to execute and manage these workshops across Northeast Indian states: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim.

Anil Agarwal, joint secretary at DPIIT said, “We understand the potential of mobilising the women entrepreneurs in the country. Through this capacity development programme we want to bring women to the forefront of innovation and support them with various benefits like incubation, mentorship, investments etc. to help them grow.”

Speaking about the programme, Aloysius Arlando, CEO of SingEx Holdings said, “SingEx will support the Indian startup ecosystem in every step of the way and is looking forward to help these startups reach their potential by inviting them to international events that SingEx organises.”

Further, Baldeep Singh Pahwa, country head and GM of SingEx Exhibitions (India) Pvt. Ltd., said, “We are very excited to be a part of this ecosystem. We are looking forward to apply our learning from Startup India Yatra executed by SingEx in 2018-19 to help women entrepreneurs from Northeast region realize their full potential through women capacity building workshops.”
