PATNA: CM Nitish Kumar on Monday said a statue of Maharana Pratap would be installed in the state capital.
Addressing a public meeting organized at the Miller School ground to remember Maharana Pratap on his death anniversary, Nitish said, “We will be doing all the necessary works to honour our illustrious personalities. We have done several works for development of all sections of the society. We have done development works in all regions of the state and for all strata of the society with our resolve to do ‘development with justice’.
Several schemes have been launched to bring the disadvantaged sections to the mainstream of the society.”
Earlier, JD(U) spokesperson and former MLC Sanjay Singh demanded installation of a statue of Maharana Pratap in the state capital.
CM further called upon people to follow the path shown by the Maharana to ensure justice to all and peace and togetherness in the society.
Recalling the great valour of the hero of Haldighati, Nitish said Maharana Pratap engaged in long and intermittent fight against the then Mughal regime, but it could be possible because he took people from all sections of the society along with him. The Maharana gave due respect to the people from minorities and tribal communities and they supported him in his war against the Mughals. Members of Dalit Bhangar community were inducted in his army.

The CM also assured the audience to do what he can to help the jailed former MP Anand Mohan.
