Karry Katona has told the ECHO of how she vowed to turn her life around after splitting from her third husband, George Kay.

Speaking at the launch of Liverpool's new weight loss clinic, Skinny Jab , Kerry said she has never 'been more in control' of her life than she is now.

The realisation that her lifestyle needed to change, came when she split from George.

Speaking to the ECHO , Kerry said: "My mindset changed when I split up with my third husband, massively, I took a long look at myself as a woman, as a mother, who I was as a person, how many Christmases I have left with my children.

"It sounds very very morbid, I know, but I thought this is the only life that I have and I really want to live it to the best.

"I want to be a better version of me. So I really had to work on me."

Kerry boasted that a positive mindset, healthy eating, training and spirituality has helped her along the way with being a 'better version of herself.'

Kerry added: "Getting fit and getting healthy starts in your head, massively...

"I get myself in this routine of waking up in the morning and smiling, say a little prayer in my head [and say]  'come on Kerry, let's face the day and whatever challenges, you've got this'

"It sounds so silly, it sounds pathetic, I'll go in the bathroom, I'll talk to myself in the mirror. I tell myself 'you're amazing Kerry, you've got this, you're successful, you're beautiful'.

"And that really helps for me."
