Time To Hunt, a film featuring Parasite star Choi Woo-sik, plus actors Lee Je-hoon, Ahn Jae-hong and Park Jung-min, will have a special gala screening at the 2020 Berlin International Film Festival, which runs from Feb. 20 to March 1.

The film’s story is set in a dystopian future when an economic crisis has reduced most of Korea to abject poverty. Prospects are especially dire for young people. Not only must they choke on polluted air and live in dangerous slums, but they are forced to commit crimes just to survive.

Joon Seok, played by Lee Je-hoon, wants to leave his miserable existence behind, so he comes up with a master crime plan and enlists three of his friends, played by Choi, Ahn and Park. The plan gets more complicated when they are chased by a mysterious man, played by Park Hae-soo.

A star cast and a respected director have raised expectations for this film. Not only does the film feature Choi, one of the Parasite actors who received a standing ovation at the recent 2020 SAG awards, but it reunites director Yoon Sung-hyun and actor Lee Je-hoon, who previously worked together in the 2011 award-winning film Bleak Night. Bleak Night received multiple awards for Best Actor and Best New Director at Korea’s 32nd Blue Dragon Awards and the 48th Grand Bell Awards. Time To Hunt will be Yoon’s first film since Bleak Night.

Lee Je-hoon recently appeared in the airport drama Where Stars Land and signed on to film the second season of the hit drama Signal with his original co-stars Kim Hye-soo and Cho Jin-woong.

Ahn Hae-jong starred in the film Microhabitat and the TV drama Be Melodramatic. He can also be seen this year in the comedy Secret Zoo. Park Jung-min also appeared in Yoon’s film Bleak Night, winning multiple awards for his role. He recently had roles in the film Tazza: One Eyed Jack and the drama Mr. Sunshine.

Besides acquiring international fame for his role in Parasite, Choi Woo-sik appeared in the zombie film Train to Busan and Bong Joon-ho’s film Okja, as well as several TV dramas, including Fight For My Way and Hogu’s Love.

The Berlin Film Festival is considered one of the top three film festivals in the world, along with the Cannes Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival.
