WWE superstar Asuka escaped unhurt from a dramatic mall shooting in the USA.

The shooting - which took place at a Las Vegas strip shopping mall - saw three gunned down.

The Japanese wrestler- real name Kanako Urai- took to social media following the incident.

Asuka - who is set to face Becky Lynch or the WWE RAW Women's Championship at this weekend's Royal Rumble event - took to social media to assuage fan fears.

The star - who is one half of the WWE Women's Tag-Team Champions, alongside Kairi Sane - took to Twitter to tell fans she had been caught up in it.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the incident.

Asuka tweeted shortly after the shooting took place saying: "I just escaped! There was a scream in front of me at #FashionShowMall. It was like shooting. #GUESS near the shooting range protected me."

Three people were shot at the Fashion Show Mall.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Asuka continued: "I heard screams from outside the door several times after fleeing to GUESS. #FashionShowMall."

One fan replied: "We love you Asuka. Stay safe please."

A spokesman for the LVMPD said: "This was not an active shooter. This was an isolated incident."
