Microsoft's Project xCloud game streaming service expands to Canada

Microsoft began public testing of its Project xCloud game streaming service back in October. Unfortunately, it's only available in select regions right now, such as in the U.S., the UK, and South Korea. Today though, the Redmond firm announced that xCloud will be coming to Canada on January 29.

Project xCloud allows you to stream games from anywhere, currently only to Android phones. Right now, Microsoft has a library of over 50 games available to play, with recent additions like Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Destiny 2, and more. And while the service is in preview, they're all free to play.

The cloud-streaming service isn't to be confused with Console Streaming, which was announced last week to now be available in all Xbox markets. Console Streaming actually works in a similar way, except instead of streaming from the cloud, it's streaming from your home Xbox One. In other words, you'll need to have the games installed on your console for them to work, whereas with cloud streaming, you can choose from a library of games available online.

Project xCloud is still invitation-only, but you can sign up to request an invite here. For the full list of games, you can find that here.
