Since 1999, Brantford has received more than $87 million in non-tax gaming revenue.

“OLG’s significant annual revenues are consistently invested in local priorities right here in Brantford-Brant and across the province,” Brantford-Brant MPP Will Bouma said in a news release. “Predictable and stable funding of community programs and initiatives is vital to the city and region as a whole.”

Brantford got $1,530,616 for the first quarter of the current fiscal year, and about $1.51 million for the second quarter.

For the last fiscal year, which ended March 31, 2019, Brantford got about $6 million from OLG.

The payments are made under a formula that determines the money communities receive for hosing a gaming facility and are based on a graduated scale of gaming revenue that is consistent across all sites in Ontario.

The OLG provides the Ontario government with its largest source of non-tax revenue from government business enterprises. In 2018-19, this amounted to $2.47 billion.
