Payal Singhal feels pink is a colour men should experiment with. She also feels that the colour is complimentary for Indian skin tones. Speaking exclusively to ET Panache, Singhal predicts the upcoming trends in men's fashion.

    Vision 2020
“I foresee experimentation as the mood of 2020. Playing with prints will definitely be huge — be it stripes on checks or geometrics worn with florals. The same goes for Indian menswear. Silhouettes like sheer kurtas, dhoti salwar, and athleisure will dominate wardrobes.”

    Trends to avoid
“Draped kurtas are past their prime. They are not universally flattering. Instead, this year will be about more streamlined silhouettes. Another mistake men make is overaccessorising. That’s best left to period films. Stick to classics, and remember that less is more. Choose one, or at the most, two accessories and make those your focal point.”

    Fashion faux-pas
“Shades of the same family don’t always pair well. So while you may be tempted to wear blue head-to-toe, it may not always match. Instead choose shades that complement and elevate each other.”

One accessory you wish would make a comebackal

Singhal feels that Timothee Chalamet, along with rapper Kanye West, has raised the bar of men's fashion.
“I have a penchant for all things classic, and would love to see hats make a comeback. They spell old-school sophistication. Being able to pull a hat off is the mark of a man who is inherently stylish.”

    Wardrobe essentials
“Jeans, a smart well-cut suit, black shoes or sneakers, a white dress shirt, and a classic bandhgala.”

You can never go wrong with
“A white shirt and blue jeans. It’s a time-tested combination, and when in doubt, it’s the perfect go-to. It’s flattering, classic and always stylish.”

    Style advice
“The best person to get style advice from is your partner. They never lie.”

    Style icons
“Rahul Khanna is absolutely effortless. He is an original and always gets it right. Timothee Chalamet has raised the bar for menswear and is one of the most fashion-forward dressers of these times. His recent red carpet looks are testimony. I’d also say Kanye West. I am personally going through an athleisure phase and it’s a look that Kanye carries best in my opinion.”
