HYDERABAD: One from Telangana and one from Haryana scored 100 percentile in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) - Main for bachelor in architecture (BArch), while a student from AP topped in bachelor of planning (B Planning), results of which were declared on Thursday.
Hardik Rajpal, a student of Narayana Junior College (Madhapur), shared the top spot with Haryana’s Aarzoo.
The national topper from AP in B Planning is Kanumuri Bheemeswara Vijay Varma. Jogi Kapil Dev from AP emerged as the topper in BArch in persons with disability category by securing 99.77 percentile. Total 1.38 lakh students had appeared for JEE-Main for BArch and B.Planning on January 6.
The 18-year-old from the state, who was preparing for JEE (Mains) for engineering, said that he cracked the BArch paper without any special preparations. “I was not expecting to emerge as the topper. While I studied maths for the engineering test, I had not prepared myself for drawing and aptitude,” said Rajpal.
Although the student appeared as the country topper in BArch, he has other plans for his future. “I will wait for the JEE (Advanced) results before I weigh my career options. If I get better score in engineering test, I may prefer to secure admission in one of the coveted engineering institutions,” said Rajpal.
