PUNE: Residents of the city can now directly interact with
Pune Municipal Corporation mayor
Murlidhar Mohol live on
Facebook on fourth Saturday of every month.
The first session will be held on January 25 at 7 pm
A press statement issued by the mayor’s office said that Mohol will interact with citizens through his FB page.
Citizens will be able to ask question and raise their concerns, officials said.
The project aims at giving a platform for direct interaction with the chief of the municipal corporation.
It is for the first time that such an experiment was being carried by the mayor’s office, officials said.
"A large number of citizens use social media. This can be put to good use and a direct dialogue with citizens can be established. The citizens can offer their views and ask questions," he said.
Mohol added that going live on Facebook was a better option considering the geographical and demographic expanse of the city.
“Priority will be given to queries pertaining to the city's development. Citizens should raise questions of public concern," he added.
