The Congress leadership in Delhi has started the consultation process to appoint a new candidate to lead the party in Telangana, replacing N Uttam Kumar Reddy who has been holding the office for nearly five years.

HYDERABAD: The Congress leadership in Delhi has started the consultation process to appoint a new candidate to lead the party in Telangana, replacing N Uttam Kumar Reddy who has been holding the office for nearly five years. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has invited several senior leaders from Telangana to Delhi for consultation and to zero in on the candidate to lead the party.
AICC secretary V Hanumantha Rao, who is in the race for the TPCC chief’s post, has been demanding that the party leadership this time appoint a leader from BC community to the top post in the state.
Ex-MP Madhu Yashki Goud is also one of the frontrunners for the post.
A senior AICC leader said the Congress leadership is also getting a survey conducted to find out which party leaders have a huge following among the people and can bring the party to power in 2023 in Telangana.
