TS municipal polls: AIMIM wins Bhainsa

HYDERABAD: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) led by President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has won Bhainsa with a huge majority in the Telangana Municipal elections.

Bhainsa was recently rocked by communal violence.

BJP vs MIM

The BJP vs MIM clash continues and finally, the MIM flag was flown over the municipality of Bhainsa in Nirmal district.

Out of 26 wards AIMIM has won in 15 wards retaining Bhainsa Municipality while BJP has won 9 wards and Independents in 2 seats.

Interestingly, the TRS and the opposition Congress could not win a single ward.

Communal clash

Just before the elections, this communally sensitive town in Nirmal district witnessed violent clashes which left 11 people injured.

As many as 13 houses, 24 bikes, a car and an auto rickshaw were burnt in the violence.

A total of 1,746 candidates were in fray in municipal corporations while 11,099 candidates tested their political fortunes in municipalities.
