FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) - A privately operated state prison was placed on lockdown as authorities investigated a massive fight in which seven people were injured, the Arizona Department of Corrections said.
The fight between approximately 150 inmates occurred Friday at the minimum-security Florence West Prison Complex, the department said.
One staff member and six inmates were transported to hospitals for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening, the department said.
Florence West is one of four state prison complexes in Florence, which is 49 miles (79 kilometers) southeast of Phoenix.
