Two cut free, four injured in two-vehicle crash south of Brisbane

By Matt Dennien

Four people were injured, one seriously, after a two-vehicle crash in a Logan suburb on Saturday night.

Emergency services were called to the scene at the intersection of Gardiner and Logan River roads in Holmview just after 10.30pm after reports of the crash.

Two people were initially trapped in one vehicle after four others had been able to free themselves.

Motorists were warned to avoid the area or expect lengthy delays as crews worked to free the patients and clear the scene.

One of those trapped, a woman in her 20s was transported in a serious but stable condition to Princess Alexandra Hospital with head, chest, back and leg injuries.

A teenage boy who was also trapped suffered leg injuries and was transported to the hospital in a stable condition.

Paramedics also transported a woman in her 50s with suspected spinal injuries and another passenger, both stable, to the hospital.
