A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of fraud after neighbours witnessed a number of coffins being removed from the property and placed inside a private ambulance.

Greater Manchester Police were called to the property, which is registered as a funeral service business online, to reports of suspicious circumstances.

A police car is guarding the property tonight as detectives continue their inquiries, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Footage seen by the paper shows two coffins wheeled from the house and neighbours say the private ambulance was also taken away by the police.

Earlier today a number of plain clothed officers were seen searching the house.
