UP: Iraqi research scholar of AMU found dead in his rented accommodation in Aligarh
AA Hamid, who hailed from Baghdad, had been staying alone in his flat.
AGRA: A 45-year-old Iraqi national, who had been pursuing his Phd from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), was found dead in his rented accommodation in Aligarh on Sunday.
According to police, AA Hamid, who hailed from Baghdad, had been staying alone in his flat number A-5 in Venus apartment. Today morning around 11 am, some neighbour knocked on his door, but when he did not open, she informed other flat residents, who informed police.
When police opened the door, Hamid was found lying on the floor.
He was doing research in Geography from AMU, said police.
According to his neighbour, Shadab Iqbal, Hamid was not well for sometime. His legs had swelling and he was suffering from chronic coughing but he did not consult any doctor.
Circle officer Anil Samaniya told TOI that his body has been sent for post mortem, which will be video-graphed. He said that Iraq embassy has been informed.
