A teenager is fighting for his life, while three others are injured, during a fight which erupted after eight people snuck into a hotel in Brisbane's CBD on Sunday night.

Police said the group gained entry to iStay River City at 9.20pm by following other guests through the door of the Albert Street hotel.

A fight then broke out in a room, leaving three of the eight – an 18-year-old and two 17-year-olds – with stab wounds.

Paramedics, including the critical care, high acuity response units and medical director, were called shortly after and arrived to find the 18-year-old with wounds to his chest.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with the medical director on board. Footage showed paramedics working behind a white sheet on the cordoned-off road.

The teen remained in a critical condition on Monday afternoon.

Another of the trio had suffered wounds to his abdomen and shoulder, and was transported in a serious but stable condition to the Princess Alexandra Hospital. The other had received significant facial injuries and was also transported to the RBWH.

Inspector John Kent told Nine News two separate crime scenes had been identified inside the building.

He said the initial incident may have occurred on one of the higher floors. "The victims have then made their way down to another floor and then further out onto the street," he said.

A number of people are helping police with their inquiries as investigations continue.
